MovieLounge is inviting local farmers, vendors, jelly makers and canners participate in their first Farmer's Market, from 12-3 p.m., Saturday, April 6.

Shoppers will enjoy locally grown and made products.

Land swap adds acreage to park, more opportunities for hikers & canoeists

In the midst of election week stories and activities, the generosity of a private citizen in Fort Smith has gone largely unnoticed. A land swap and donation of land between Bill Hanna and the City of Fort Smith will enable hikers, canoeists and kayakers public access to the Arkansas River from Carol Ann Cross Park. The swap was approved Tuesday night, November 6 by the Fort Smith Board of Directors.

Fort Smith: Get a head start on your summer fun with free admission to Fort Smith National Historic Site this Saturday, June 9. In celebration of National Get Outdoors Day, all 397 national parks, including Fort Smith National Historic Site will waive entrance fees.

“Outdoor physical activity is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle and Fort Smith National Historic Site is a great place to get out and enjoy walking, photography, or picnicking with family and friends,” said Fort Smith National Historic Site Superintendent Bill Black.

Wild Things Farm: Easter Bunnies, Marshmallows, Pony Rides, oh my!

Wild Things Farm owners Jim and Catherine Greene have decided to offer something a little different this Easter, a Mallow Harvest! Instead of hunting eggs, your little “bunny” will be picking marshmallow goodies!

The event will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, at Wild Things Farm located at 700 Beaty, Pocola, Okla., just over the border and minutes away from Fort Smith and Van Buren.

The event is open to children ages 10 and under.
