Appreciation Lunch Held at FSPD
News

Local businesses show their appreciation for Fort Smith police.

Arvest Bank teamed up with the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association to provide free lunches Wednesday for the police department. Also donating money or food was Walmart, Sam’s Club, Western Sizzlin’, Golden Corral and Hooters.

Organizers say it’s simply their way of patting officers on the back and saying good job.

“Having a lunch provided for the department is a real nice thing, especially on times when it’s real busy,” said Wes Milam, community relations officer with Fort Smith Police. “Real nice to know you can come down and get you a free lunch and that there’s people in the community that appreciate what the police department does.”

The alumni association was started in 1998 and helps organize multiple events such as this each year.
