Harvest Time Church Hosts Carnival for Dads | News

River Valley dads were celebrated for the champions they are Sunday afternoon at a Fort Smith church.

Harvest Time Church put on a carnival to show dads just how much they are loved. They served some favorite “dad” snacks like beef jerky and root beer floats. More than 500 gift bags with tools and treats were given to the fathers who attended the event.

But first they had to show off some of their skills playing games and getting involved in the activities.

“You’ve got a couple of pitch machines,” said Pastor Marty Sloan. “You’ve got the hammer thing where you hit the bell at the top…just about anything where dad can come and look good in front of his kids. We want dads to feel good about themselves.”

Pastor Sloan says this was a community event to make sure dads know how much they are appreciated and how much of a special role they in their kids’ lives.”
