Nature Night: For the Birds program at Nature Center

FORT SMITH – Tuesday January 15th at 6:00 pm the Nature Center will have a ‘For the Birds’ evening program. Learn about the adventures of winter birding from our volunteer, Ann Gordon. We will make crafts you can take home. The birds are sure to enjoy.  This program is part of the Nature Night series which includes a variety of family friendly programs after hours at the Nature Center.

Land swap adds acreage to park, more opportunities for hikers & canoeists

In the midst of election week stories and activities, the generosity of a private citizen in Fort Smith has gone largely unnoticed. A land swap and donation of land between Bill Hanna and the City of Fort Smith will enable hikers, canoeists and kayakers public access to the Arkansas River from Carol Ann Cross Park. The swap was approved Tuesday night, November 6 by the Fort Smith Board of Directors.

OG&E delivered 100 fans to the Salvation Army in Fort Smith Wednesday as part of an effort to help low-income and elderly citizens find relief from the heat.
