A benefit dinner will be held Saturday, Aug. 4 for Trevor Sparkman, 14, a River Valley boy recovering from a rare lung condition.
A barbeque lunch will be served by Muldrow Masonic Lodge at the Muldrow Middle School Cafeteria from 12-4 p.m. The lunch is $6 and all proceeds will go to help the family pay for Trevor's medical treatments.
A pie auction and silent auction conducted by Dennis Huggins with Border Town Auctions will also be provided. Among the items up for auction are a rare framed Metallica photo, autographed guitar, full-sized movie posters, a crystal bowl, autographed guitar, motorcycle figurine and more.
Later in the evening a benefit concert will be performed by 3 Cent Genius in Roland Park.
Trevor has been in and out of the hospital since March 2012 when he was diagnosed. He is going to return to the Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, on Aug. 10 for a Partial Lobectomy, according to his mother Heather Sparkman. It's one of the few hospitals in the country which perform the procedure.
If you would like to contribute to the Trevor Sparkman Medical Fund, donations can be made to an account at Arvest Bank.
